Sweet Salvage

I attended a preview for the current month at Sweet Salvage in Phoenix.  It was so festive with the seasonal spicy fragrances, the visuals of Christmas past decor themes, live music and great food.  For those of you not familiar with Sweet Salvage.  It's wonderful place where several designers gather each month and use their talents setting up themed vignettes.  They have a preview the 3rd Wednesday of the month.  Preview only, no purchases.  They're only open 4 days each month, 3rd Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The line forms at 8 am to enter and begin your personal treasure hunt.

Here in Arizona, when our snowbirds visit many communities have "patio sales." And you often
find great treasures.  I love the look of the industrial style.  The great stool, architectural pieces  and the hanging lamps people are using as drop lights in their kitchens.  I've wanted a metal accent piece for a while now... I lucked out when I found this vintage metal tote.  Best of all it was only $2.50... Yippy. I decided to use it in my storage poor kitchen and keep my most used olive oils and spice close at hand.  I love it...

Refinished Vanity

This is the matching vanity, a companion piece to the white French
Dresser.  I did the same theme here.  Made my own chalk paint, vinyl lettering,  finished
with darkened wax and used the life saving electric buffer.
I sold both pieces in my designer space in an antique mall located
in my area. I wished I'd had room for them in my home.

Refinished Dresser

I found this dresser and a matching vanity at my local St Vincent de Paul's Thrift store.
I was so excited when I saw it and my imagination took off.
I ended up with a French theme (which of course I love)
I made my own chalk paint, used vinyl typography and used darkened wax to finish.  Then buffed
and buffed.  I ended up purchasing an electric car buffer.  What a treat it.  Saved a tired out arm.
Hugs,

Vintage Style Snowmen

It was so much fun at Karen Valentines class last Saturday.  Her skills, talent and bubbly energy.
We laughed, wore glue, mica and sneezed glitter.  We enjoyed a great casserole for lunch (Karen can cook too).  It was very special for me since my daughter was able to attend too.  She lives half the time in Scotland, so the comradely was special with her, Lynn, Jennifer, Ginny and Karen!
Here are our little guys.

Have a great day,
Suzy
